What is PDU Generator?
The Redsim PDU Generator is a Windows applications for generating DIS PDUs using PDU Templates defined using the Custom PDU Definition capability of the DIS Link Monitor.
PDU Generator provides capability to generate PDU data in a user friendly manner. Options are provided for immediate transmission of the defined PDU as well as the capability to save defined PDUs to a file for subsequent replay.
What kind of data entry does PDU Generator provide?
The Redsim PDU Generator provides user friendly facilities to enter values for the various records of the PDU Template. Facilities are also provided for the entry of entity position/velocity/orientation parameters in Lat/Lon, Height, Speed, Heading and Y/R/P with automatic conversion to geocentric values. A facility for the automatic conversion of angles expressed as degrees into radians is also provided.
How are PDU Structures Defined for PDU Generator?
The PDU Generator uses the Custom PDU Definitions that may be defined with the DIS Link Monitor. By using these Custom PDU definitions, users may generate their own definitions for all PDUs of interest, including non- standard PDUs.
What options does PDU Generator provide for PDU Replay?
The PDU Generator provides facilities for the single shot transmission of the defined PDU, as well as periodic transmission at a selected interval.
What platform does PDU Generator require?
The Generator will run on any standard Intel PC with Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 or Windows XP. Minimum requirements are for a 400MHz Pentium, 1280 by 1024 screen resolution, an ethernet network card and 8MB of RAM over and above the operating system.
